Kanchenjunga South - The Lower Himalaya

Some of my favorites from the first part of the Kanchenjunga trek. Most of the walk here is at low altitudes of about 2000 m, the scenery is green and it is full of warm and friendly people.

  1. Taplejung - this is the largest settlement in the area and for most trekkers it is also the place where the walk starts.

  2. A good reminder ;-)

  60. Chiring is 11-years-old. His family owns the lodge at Lasiya Bhanjyang. He came with us from Yamphudin to open the lodge all by himself. At the lodge he simply exploded with action: brought water, made fire, cleaned up and cooked. He even sold us some rum ;-)
